Nurse Capability Framework

In a landscape of dynamic challenges in healthcare, nurse leaders must be well-prepared to navigate evolving social, political, and economic landscapes. Anticipating the future needs of healthcare leadership, the Nurse Executive Leadership Program is designed as a strategic response to these challenges. At its core lies the Nurse Executive Capability Framework, a pioneering initiative that establishes a national standard for nurse executives’ essential capabilities.

Unlike any existing framework in Australia, the Nurse Executive Capability Framework is a groundbreaking tool that sets the standard for the capabilities required in nurse executive roles across diverse healthcare settings. As the national trailblazer, Institute of Leadership recognises the critical need for a comprehensive guide in the absence of a specific framework for nurse executives in the country.

The Nurse Executive Leadership Program is the conduit through which aspiring and current nurse executives can leverage the capabilities outlined in this groundbreaking framework. By enrolling in this program, participants not only gain insights into the unique demands of nurse executive roles but also align their career trajectories with a nationally recognised standard.

In essence, the Nurse Executive Leadership Program and its underlying Nurse Executive Capability Framework provide a transformative platform. They not only define a clear career pathway for up-and-coming nurse executives but also empower current nurse executives to enhance their skills and excel in their present roles. By setting a new national standard, ACN ensures that nurse leaders are not just prepared for the challenges of today but are equipped to shape the future of healthcare leadership.
